How to get here, cost of our transports, special requests? Here are the answers to the most common questions from our travelers.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is at 3:00 pm and check-out is until 11:00 am. However, you can arrive early and enjoy our facilities without any problems. Late check-out has a surcharge of $50,000.
Can you help me with decorations for a birthday?
Of course! We can help you with the decoration and planning of your birthday. Our settings are very natural, we have decorations made from island resources, and we have a plan that includes brownie with ice cream. We have different offers and you can pay for it at the time of check in. We recommend that you book and consult more information about the decorations with one of our advisors through WhatsApp (+57 321 715 5513)
Do you have internet?
Yes, of course! It is important for us that you know that we do offer Wi-Fi service, but since we are on an island, we depend a little on the conditions here. For example, if there are storms we can lose the signal, or if the power goes out or we switch from one power source to another, our connection can also be interrupted. However, we do have electricity 24 hours a day, as well as Internet.
Are they Pet Friendly?
Yes! We are pet friendly, you can visit us with your pet if you stay in a private room, but keep in mind that there may be some free-roaming animals in the hotel, such as chickens, hens, cats and other dogs. And outside there may be even more animals such as donkeys and pigs. For this reason, it is very important that your dog is under your supervision and control during your entire stay.
We also recommend that you keep your internal and external deworming control plan up to date before visiting us.
If I can't travel, will I get my deposit back?
No! This is against our cancellation policy. In case you need to postpone your trip (change the date you would visit us), please note that you can only do so up to a maximum of one week in advance of your reservation date, as if you do so less than this week, you will lose the 50% deposit. At La Playita we do not refund deposits, but you can save it for consumption on a future occasion (provided that you notify us of the change at least one week before your original reservation) or to pay towards the reservation on the new date.
What are your services?
We are a hotel in Fuerte Island. We have private rooms with private bathrooms, private rooms with shared bathrooms, shared rooms with shared bathrooms and private family cabins with private bathrooms, as well as a restaurant, bar, aquatic and ecological activities center and diving center. We also offer private land transportation and sea transportation services.
What is a shared room?
Shared rooms are mixed dormitories where you share your reservation with other travellers. They are ideal for people travelling on a budget, or who want to meet new people during their stay. In shared rooms, you have a bunk bed at your disposal and the dorm can accommodate 6 or 16 people. There are also shared bathrooms for all people in the room. Children under 18 cannot stay in shared dormitories; only in private rooms.
Where are you located, how can I get there?
Our hotel is located on Isla Fuerte, near the Gulf of Morrosquillo. In front of the coast of San Bernardo del Viento and Moñitos. You can take a flight to Montería, and from there transfer by land transport to Paso Nuevo (boat port). The trip takes approximately two hours and can be by bus or by our private transport (the private car with us from the Airport to Paso Nuevo costs $250,000 per trip, you can divide it between the number of people coming, the car has a maximum capacity of 4 people). In Paso Nuevo our boats leave for the island with a trip of approximately half an hour, they cost $38,000 per person, per trip. You can also come by private car to Paso Nuevo, there are parking lots available in the town. The other option would be interdepartmental buses to Montería or Lorica (we recommend Lorica, since it is only 1 hour from Paso Nuevo, and it may be easier for you to get there)
What is Ground Transportation like?
We offer a private transfer that picks you up at the Montería airport and drops you off at Paso Nuevo (boat port) with our boatmen. This service costs $250,000 per car per trip, with a maximum capacity of 4 people. It can also be from Lorica to Paso Nuevo, and costs $120,000 per car per trip.
When I arrive at Paso Nuevo, how do I know which boat to board?
Once you arrive at Paso Nuevo, our boat port to board the boat to the Island, ask for Leyer! He is our port manager and will give you the information about the boat you should board.

What are the boat schedules?
It is ideal to arrive as early as possible so you can enjoy the island. Boats leave approximately every hour from Paso Nuevo to Isla Fuerte until 3:00 PM.
If I arrive after 3:00 pm at Paso Nuevo, can I still board a boat?
Yes! You can take a boat, but you will most likely have to pay for an express boat at the port.
Can I cancel with a credit card?
Sure! We accept debit and credit card payments. These have a surcharge of 5%. We also accept Bancolombia transfers and cash payments.
How do I book diving?
You can call +57 302 242 9847 and our diving center managers will advise and support you with whatever you need.
How far in advance should I book?
We do not have a fixed date in advance, but we do recommend securing your reservation in advance, due to our high flow of messages and reservations.
Do you have volunteer programs?
Yes, and the only way we have enabled for you to apply is through WorldPackers
How much does the boat cost and how long does it take?
The boat costs $38,000 per person per trip and takes approximately 30 minutes. It may vary depending on sea conditions.
Can I bring liquor or snacks?
Please remember that we do not allow the consumption of alcoholic beverages and/or food outside the hotel, in the common areas of the hotel. In addition, we invite you not toor store food or drinks in your room, we must take extreme measures to avoid problems with rodents or insects in the facilities; Remember, we are on an island!
Can I book a package for high season?
No, we do not sell packages during high season, but you can contact our advisors to request information about the different accommodations.
What is the dinner menu that is included in the Romantic Getaway package?
The romantic dinner you can enjoy in the package includes starters, main course, dessert, decoration and wine; this is the detailed menu from which you can choose:

Do they have a swimming pool?
We do not currently have a pool area. We have good access to the sea and have sun loungers on our two Fizzy decks.
Are children allowed?
At La Playita you can stay with children, however, it is important to keep in mind that there is a bar and party atmosphere relatively close to the rooms, especially on weekends, which is open until the early hours of the morning and can interrupt children's sleep. I also tell you that children under 4 years old do not have to pay for their stay since they can sleep with their parents, but their breakfast would not be included either. Children cannot stay in shared rooms, only private ones!
Do they have a beach?
On Fuerte Island, we experience the effects of coastal erosion, caused by waves, currents, high tides and wind-driven waters, thanks to global climate change. These factors, totally inherent and exogenous to La Playita, affect the beach immediately near our area seasonally, so we DO have access to the sea (via stairs or our dock), but not a sandy beach all year round.
In addition, we have Punta Arena Beach just 4 minutes away on foot, or you can also visit Playa San Diego, which is about 20 minutes away.
